Stokvel Rescue is run by Stokvel Platform Systems. This page explains what we collect, why, and for how long.

What we collect

Your email address (to sign you in and send your receipt), and the information you enter or upload for a case: member names, dates, amounts, bank transactions, loans and fines. This is personal information about you and about the other members of your club.

Why

Only to calculate your result and to show it to you. We do not sell it and we do not use it for advertising.

How it is kept

Case information is stored encrypted. Only the account holder who created a case can open it through the website.

How long

Cases and uploads are deleted automatically 3 months after you last change them. You can delete all your cases and your sign-in record at any time from the "My data" page.

Reading documents with AI (paid checks)

If you upload a PDF or photo, its pages are sent to OpenAI, an AI service, so that the text and numbers can be read out of it. We ask OpenAI not to store the request. The result is shown to you to check before anything is used. The original file is deleted from our storage as soon as it has been read, or when you remove it; if reading fails, it is kept only so that you can try again. The AI only copies what is written; all the arithmetic is done by our own program.

PDF report, onboarding pack and "Continue with SPS"

Paid checks can download a PDF report and an onboarding pack (a ZIP of spreadsheet files). They are built from your case when you ask for them and are not stored. If you use the "Continue with SPS" button, we pass on only the club name, the number of members, the club type, a short summary of the result, your email address and the name and phone number you enter, so that SPS can contact you. Your transactions and figures are not sent. We also email you a link to your result when a paid check finishes.

Other people's information

Please upload information about other members only if you are entitled to hold it as part of the club's records, for example as a member, treasurer or chairperson.

Payments

Payments are handled by PayFast. We never see or store your card details. We keep the order, amount and receipt for tax and accounting records.
